Meet Justin

February 16, 2023

Continuing our series about highlighting the people behind the scenes that work for better trails in our community, we come to CAMBA President, Justin. Justin has been a volunteer with CAMBA since 2017 and on the board of directors since 2020. In 2021 Justin was elected as President, and along with Past President (and current Vice President) Chad, and Executive Director Laura, the three oversee all of CAMBA's operations.

Justin moved to the Bow Valley in 2007 and instantly fell in love with trails and mountain biking. When CAMBA was formed in 2016, Justin saw an opportunity to give back to the trails in Canmore and area that he had enjoyed for nearly a decade. Offering his skills and expertise in IT as a software developer, Justin helped build "online" infrastructure for CAMBA, such as a website, a digital membership system, and other applications the association utilizes for its day-to-day operations. To this day, Justin continues to serve as CAMBA's "IT Guy."

In his role as CAMBA president, Justin works daily with land managers across the Bow Valley to further CAMBA's mission of building and maintaining trails for everyone to enjoy. When not meeting with decision-makers, Justin can often be found at the Canmore Nordic Centre, grooming the winter network for fat biking, as one of CAMBA's active "Snowdog" groomers.

Justin is extremely proud to serve as CAMBA President and continue the superhuman work of Past Presidents, Wanda and Chad. The thing that keeps him going is the amazing energy of other CAMBA volunteers, be it the board of directors, volunteer crew leaders, or other folks that show up trail nights. Justin is also extremely grateful to work with amazing staff, like Executive Director Laura, and Trail Boss Luke, to bolster CAMBA's volunteer efforts. Together with this community of amazing people that are the engine that runs CAMBA, Justin couldn't be more excited about the future and the opportunities that will come with it.
